Colon cancer has a very strong association with the lifestyle prevalent in Western societies, characterized by highly synthetic and chemically treated foods. From processed meats to the poor quality of meat available at local grocery stores, and the exposure to insecticides and various chemicals, our modern diet plays a significant role. Rising obesity rates, coupled with a sedentary lifestyle, further exacerbate this risk. All these factors contribute to the increasing incidence of colon cancer, underscoring the importance of lifestyle changes in prevention.

Pancreatic cancer: This is a deadly disease and sadly incidence is on the rise. While strong genetic risk factors are correlated with 5-10% of pancreatic cancer, It’s associated with type 2 diabetes, obesity, smoking and exposure to chemicals like pesticides.

This underscores the importance to know what is ” individual” risk of cancer calculating all possible tangible factors and working to control those that are changeable like lifestyle and exposure.

We work t understand this using the best technologies there is to test for genetic risks and implement the surveillance necessary to detect those cancers.
